KMW – Hygienic Level Switch

For all Liquids and Pastes

The microprocessor based hygienic level switch, KMW offered by Toshbro Controls is used for level detection in tanks in the Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical industry.

The instrument works on Electromagnetic waves (100…180 MHz) and can be installed in any position in tanks or piping systems. KMW is suitable for almost all liquids and paste-like medias. All common hygienic process connections are available.

A high frequency signal sweep is radiated from the sensor tip into the tank or pipe. The medium acts as a virtual capacitor, which together with a coil in the sensor, will form a circuit creating the switching point. This virtual capacity will depend of the dielectric value of the medium and is well defined for most media.
