Nivoson – Open Channel Flow Transmitter

Non-Contact measurement

Open channel flowmeters measure the flow of liquids that are open to the atmosphere at some point in the measurement system.

Toshbro Controls Open Channel Flow Meter - 'Nivoson' is a non-contact ultrasonic transmitter that offers accurate and reliable flow measurement in open channels.

The transmitter has the formulas for 20 commonly used flumes and weirs which allows for a fast set-up. In case of custom built weirs with unknown level and flow relation, a 32 bit linearization function allows for accurate measurement.   The instrument offers 2 Flow totalizers for volumetric flow measurement. One of the totalizers is resettable while the other is not.

Features

  • 20 pre-programmed flume and weirs
  • 32 but linearization function
  • Temperature compensated
  • Optional Integrated Display
  • 2 totalizers – one resettable and other not resettable.
  • Echo strength analysis

The Ultrasonic level transmitter works on the principle of transmission of ultrasonic waves in air. A pulse is transmitted from the sensor face into the tank. This pulse travels through the air, gets reflected by the liquid surface and returns back to the sensor. The on board electronics measures this total travel time of the pulse and the liquid level is computed.
